How I Learned to Love the Pit and the People in it.
An examination of Bristol's Metal scene and the people, places and nights out that create the subculture.
Shooting the project entirely on 35mm has enabled me to have an active role in the project as well as the creativity to play around with how to present the chaos from the dancing and moshing. My camera is also a gloriously cheap and cheerful, easy to replace piece of crap (haha), so I don't have to fear for it being punched or dropped. This allowed me to get as close as possible to the action.
I wanted to show that the subculture is more than just the moshing; It is a community built up by a people coming together and sharing an interest in the music they love.
