Preview: Andrew Hung (F**k Buttons) @ The Exchange

Widely recognised for his work in electronic/noise duo ‘F**k Buttons’ alongside Benjamin John Power, Bristol’s own Andrew Hung is returning to his hometown on November 20th to debut his solo album ‘Realisationship’ released on Lex Records. Hung’s body of collaborations and productions is impressive, including Beth Orton’s critically acclaimed album Kidsticks as well as his own ground-breaking soundtrack for the award-winning cult film, The Greasy Strangler.

Following the success of F**k Button, who released three albums and headlined multiple festivals, most notably the Park Stage at Glastonbury, Hung focused on other projects. Citing his collaborative work with Beth Orton producing Kidsticks as particularly formative stating that Beth in many ways, renewed my perspective of collaboration; proving to me that collaboration is an incredible tool that provides shortcuts to realisation; such was the sweetness and beauty of ours." Hung found this time working alongside Orton particularly stimulating, during this time releasing two lively and exuberant EPs, Rave Cave 1 and Rave Cave 2.

‘Realiastionship’ marks a clear departure from Hung’s earlier work and has been described as “a pure expression of colour and fun; a party for tomorrow’s people.” With this description in mind it is clear that his homecoming gig is certainly not one to miss.
